Heatmap
Reported crime across Denver
Each shaded zone on the map reflects how often crime has been reported there lately. The brightest patches usually fall over the downtown entertainment grid, the East Colfax commercial run, and pockets of Capitol Hill, where foot traffic, bars, and transit all converge. Push out toward Hilltop, Washington Park West, or the residential stretches of far southeast Denver and the colors fade fast.
The toggle at the top lets you separate the picture into property incidents (theft, burglary, auto theft, vandalism) and violent ones (homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, weapons), or view everything at once. Because a few extremely busy blocks would otherwise dominate, the shading is scaled across the whole city — that way a moderately active residential street still reads differently from a deserted one.
